Years of research and development have resulted in the Mondo® Mazatapec XL magic mushroom grow kits of the next generation. Mazatapec XL grow kit is now better than ever. In comparison to the first generation, the second generation of Mondo®XL magic mushroom grow kit includes:

  • *More flushing = more mushrooms, higher yields
  • increased contamination resistance
  • Instructions that are unique but simple to follow

*Some strains produce a greater number of flushes than others. The first three flushes are the most significant.

Magic mushroom grow kit usa

The Mondo® Mazatapec XL magic mushroom grow kit is a little different from previous grow kits you may have used. These are mostly ‘under the hood’ distinctions that are difficult to detect.

As with the previous and other simple mushoom grow kits, no additional spores are required. During the laboratory process, spores developed in mycelium inside the substrate (the cake) in the grow box.

How to store the grow kit correctly

It is recommended that the cultivation process begin as soon as possible. Keep the grow kit in the refrigerator (2°C to 8°C) for 2 weeks after the production date if you want to start growing later. To begin, place the grow kit in a plastic shopping bag and tightly seal it.

Contents

  • 1x grow box – This contains substrate with active mycelium (the cake)
  • 1x large grow bag – The bag has micron filters to keep contaminants out
  • 2x paperclip – For closing the grow bag.

You need

  • Misting Bottle  – Misting is needed for the humidity level
  • Potable water – For misting and soaking
  • Clean environment – Work clean to give other fungi and bacteria (micro organisms) no chance to contaminate.

We recommend to use

  • Surgical gloves
  • Facemask
  • Disinfectant for hands
  • Disinfectant for surfaces
  • Soaking Bag
  • Thermometer
  • Thermo mat (when room temperature drops below 18°C)

How to prepare the room and yourself before you begin

  • Any windows that are left open should be closed. Wind and drafts can carry microorganisms into and contaminate the Mondo® ‘Mazatapec’ XL Magic Mushroom grow kit.
  • Place the grow box containing the cake on a disinfected surface after removing it from the carton box. Microorganisms may attach to the grow box and thrive inside the Mondo® ‘Mazatapec’ XL Magic Mushroom grow kit if this surface is not clean.
  • Check that your hands and arms are clean. We recommend using surgical gloves or a good disinfectant when handling the kit. Wear a facemask to avoid breathing into the grow bag and on the cake.

Starting the process / buy magic mushroom grow kit uk

  1. Half-fill the box with clean, potable water. Soak the grow box for 12 hours after tightly closing it.
  2. Drain the excess water from the grow box after 12 hours.
  3. Place the grow box inside the large grow bag. The open end of the bag should be facing up.
  4. Remove the grow box’s lid. Rinse the lid thoroughly and store it in a ziplock bag for future use. Place the ziplockbag with the lid back into the carton box.
  5. Fold the open end of the large grow bag twice; do not cover the micron filter.
  6. To keep the bag closed, place the paperclip on the fold. Mondo® ‘Mazatapec’ XL Magic Mushroom grow kit is now available for cultivation.
  7. Place the Mondo® ‘Mazatapec’ XL Magic Mushroom grow kit inside the carton box on top of the ziplock with lid.

Temperature

The ideal temperature is 24°C. The temperature should not drop below 18°C or rise above 29°C. A thermo mat can be used to keep the temperature above 18°C. A thermo mat is a must-have in the winter or colder regions of the world.

Light

Only light is required for the Mondo® ‘Mazatapec’ XL magic mushroom grow kit’s mycelium to “know” it has reached the surface. Then and only then will mushrooms sprout. It is sufficient to expose yourself to a few hours of fluorescent/artificial light or indirect sunlight per day. Because direct sunlight kills mycelium, keep the grow kit away from the sun.

Water / Misting

The day after you start the process, you start misting. To open the grow bag, remove the paperclip. Rather than directly on the cake, spray once against each side of the bag. As a result, you mist four times per day. Misting allows fresh oxygen to enter the bag as well. Immediately after misting, re-close the bag with the paperclip.

Mushrooms

The first small mushrooms (the pins) should appear between 5 and 16 days if the conditions are favorable. The strain also has an impact on this. Some strains of Cubensis mature at a slower rate than others.

Flushes

The mushrooms appear in groups. This group may be small or large in size. The strain determines this. A flush is a type of growth similar to this. Mushrooms are rarely ripe all at once. A kit may contain more than one flush. The first and second flushes are the most important. There will be more flushes, but they will be smaller in size than the previous one.

Picking

The mushrooms are ripe and ready to be picked when the veil between the hat and the stem has just torn. Don’t postpone it any longer. To protect your hands, wrists, and arms, wear surgical gloves or disinfect your hands, wrists, and arms. Only pick the ripe mushrooms and leave the rest to grow. Remove the mushrooms from the cake by grasping the base with your thumb and index finger. Rotate your hand slowly clockwise until the mushroom lets go. Don’t take the mushrooms out. This would endanger and possibly kill the mycelium. Pick the smaller mushrooms and pins after you’ve picked the majority of the larger mushrooms.

Mushrooms that grow from the sides

Mushrooms grow in places where light can pass through and there is little penetrating resistance. Mushrooms may grow on the sides of the cake because the light shines on them. It’s difficult to counteract this, but it’s legal. To keep their grow boxes dark, some growers wrap the sides in aluminum foil, but this does not always work.

If mushrooms grow nearby, they can be picked just before soaking the kit:

Your hands are spotless! Remove the grow box from the bag and place it upside down on your other hand. Wiggle the plastic container until the cake falls out and onto your hand. Placing the plastic box on a disinfectant surface will disinfect it. With this hand, you can now pick the mushrooms from the cake’s sides. After you’ve picked all of the mushrooms, return the cake to its original location in the plastic box and continue the soaking process.

Soaking

You’ll need to prepare the kit for the next flush after you’ve harvested all of the mushrooms. Using disinfected hands or gloves, remove the grow box from the large grow bag. Half-fill the box with clean, potable water. Close the grow box by removing the ziplock bag lid. Place the closed grow box in a soaking bag or a clean plastic shopping bag. Place it in the refrigerator (2°C to 8°C) for 12 hours. This is referred to as the soaking process. The cake will now absorb water, preparing it for the next flush.

While the grow bag with micronfilter is soaking, hang it upside down to dry. Hang it upside down to prevent microorganisms from entering the bag. Many growers prefer to use new and unused grow bags after each flush.

Remove the soaking bag containing the grow box from the fridge after 12 hours and unpack it.

Next Flush

To continue, repeat steps 3–7 from the beginning of the process. After a few days, a new flush will appear. A Mondo® ‘Mazatapec’ XL Magic mushroom grow kit will produce at least two or three flushes of mushrooms. You can get more flushes out of a kit if you have cultivating experience.

The end

When no more mushrooms grow after the second flush for at least three weeks, or when the Mondo® ‘Mazatapec’ XL Magic Mushroom grow kit turns green, red, grey, or yellow, discard the grow kit. The change in color indicates that the grow kit has become contaminated with another fungus or bacteria. The Mondo® ‘Mazatapec’ XL Magic mushroom grow kit is no longer producing mushrooms and should be discarded outside in the trash.

Spores

When you pick the mushrooms too late, the spores will fall out. The cake and mushrooms will turn black/purple due to the spores (other cubensis strains will turn red/brown). This isn’t a big deal; it simply doesn’t look good. When mushrooms release their spores, they begin to degrade, as do the active ingredients. The potency of mushrooms will be reduced.
